Jackson County Courthouse Fire (1951)
In January 1951 the Jackson County Courthouse on Main Street in the City of Jackson sufferred a devastating file which gutted the interior and destroyed the clock tower. The Courthouse was rebuilt keeping the brick exterior which remained largely intact. Alas, the clock tower was never reconstructed to its former glory.
